An update on our baby!

Our baby turned 14 months a few days ago! I can't believe how quickly she is changing and learning new things. It amazes me how much she understands when she can hardly talk. She understands "put it back", "let's go upstairs", "give it to the doggy!" or "give it to mommy if you're finished with it" and so much more! She is walking great and practically running, but still falls. She is learning to do easy puzzles and shape sorters. She also recently learned to sign "please" and boy did she learn it. She rubs her chest whenever she wants something. The more she wants it the more frantically she rubs. She is also learning (hopefully) that signing please is a better (and quicker alternative) to throwing a fit when she is frustrated about things she cannot do, such as putting on her own socks and shoes (yes she tries hard).

Here are some of her interests these days...

She loves to climb in and on everything she is able...

Yes, everything!

She also loves to play in the kitchen cupboards (the baby safe ones) and make a mess!

.
...tries to dress herself, she puts anything cloth on her head

She also likes to give everything soft a hug, or if something in a book looks soft, she hugs the book!

Trying to get a rise out of Shade, Carolyn LOVES her "doddy" (doggy)!

She also loves books! She will back herself into any ready (or not) lap.
But sometimes when you're reading a good book you just gotta stop and make sure your bellybutton is still there!

She also loves to be silly and make crazy noises! (growling, wheezing, roaring, screeching, she's a nut!) Especially if Daddy will do the noises with her!

Another favorite of Carolyn's, her DAH! (or sometimes BAH) but we know she means BALL! :)

What doesn't this baby like? Loud noises (food mixer, hair dryer, vacuum etc). Grass. Water on her face (ie the shower), mommy handing her off to anyone else (sometimes even daddy!).

Love you, love you, love you, sweet babycakes!!

  1. What a sweetie! Shares some of her humor with Susie! Susie used to sit in and on everything, and back up into everyones laps, including babies in the nursery who were smaller than her!
